Our many years of experience have allowed us to discover what truly works, and we want to let you in on these industry secrets!
Block, Brick, Sand, and Mortar
- It takes 1.125 block per square foot of wall.
- It takes 6.75 modular brick per square foot of wall.
- It takes 5.76 engineer/queen-size brick per square foot of wall.
- One yard of sand and 7 bags of masonry cement will lay 245 block or 1000 brick.
- It takes 55 wall ties per 1000 modular brick, or 65 wall ties per 1000 E/M brick.
- One 80 lb. bag of ready-mix mortar will lay approximately 12 block or 45 brick.
Concrete
- One yard of concrete will cover 80 square feet at 4" thick.
- One 80 lb. bag of ready-mix concrete will cover 2 square feet at 4" thick.
- One 80 lb. bag of ready-mix concrete is .67 cubic feet.
- One-yard of 60/40 mix and 6 bags of Portland cement will make one yard of concrete.
- 40 80 lb. bags of ready-mix concrete will make one yard of concrete.
- It takes 25 shovels of 60/40 per bag of Portland cement for 6 bag mix. It takes 30 shovels per bag for 5 bag mix.
